I've seen amazing point and shoot photos and very crappy DSLR photos. Take a photography class if you want to take better photos.

Im a noob to photography... I know just about nothing.

Noticed you have some sweet shots though, what kind of camera do you have?

I'm a high school kid so I don't really have time or money to do a photography class...

Why not? Plenty of high schools offer photography classes. You can buy a camera but you can't afford a class that's probably offered free at your school?

I use a Nikon D90. You can get a used Canon or Nikon DSLR used in the $300s. If you're after maximum image quality and sharpness, you'll want a DSLR. I can't recommend buying a P&S camera, to anyone, even a beginner.
