i currently have a structure for my bkg and eels but there getting to big for it and dont like sharing to much. so when i move them i would like to get something big to support the bgk for life and the eel im getting Texas holey rock but i dont feel the knife would like it ? oh and no pvc too unnatural

i use a slate in front of the glass... and that way i get to see my BGK when ever i look at the tank... and i also can watch him eat..like this ..loaches 021.JPG

what ever works for you...mine actually out grew his cave...he is over 12 inches... this just worked for me.. now my ck... he is 17 inches .. we cut a pvc pipe and made that his cave... because he outgrew everything in the store available.. :D

You can do like Liz and get a big piece of slate rock and lay against the tank or you can get a large piece of driftwood. If you get an arched driftwood, it can act as a cave as well. It's what I have for mine. However, I actually lay it against the glass so I can see my Polys and Knife up front:)

Driftwood ftw! I've seen a few neat driftwood concoctions made of several peices to make a tee-pee and a cave-like hide spot. You could also intigrate the 2 and use a large peice of wood and tilt a peice of slate to create a hide spot. get creative!.. But I'm a hard core PVC girl. I wouldn't use anything abrasive, imo not a matter of IF but when someons gonna get scratched up on it.
