Hey, first off I want to say I have been reading this forum for about a month now, finally decided to jump in.
But yeah, I picked up my first silver arowana a few weeks ago he is about 8". I have him in a 55 right now (I know, I have plans to get a 125 in a month then build a real big one after I move in july).
Anyway, when he was at the LFS his color was almost pure silver. When I got him home and in the water, his color really popped out, it almost surprised me... So I just wanted to share a picture and ask if colors like this are common or if they will fade as he grows. Out of all the pictures I have seen on google none of them had colors like mine. Anyway here is the picture.
Not the best picture, but my tank lights kinda suck. He has some bright blue right behind his gills, pink stripes on his fins, and all his scales and fins have pink trim on them. I am hoping this is a good sign, either way I think he is awesome.
Let me know what you think.
