i caught a 24" snook today in my canal. only the third one ive caught, second out of my canal. i saw another one that was around 3' long. i also hooked 2 pbass. i missed the hook set w/ the first and i was screwing around with the other one and i didnt lower my drag enough and it broke off.

i wish i could have kept it, but:

1. i dont have a big enough tank/pond yet
2. i think snook season is closed
3. it might be under sized
4. if i grew it to a huge size, it might be oversized

having a snook in any of 2-4 gets u a huge fine. the snook population was depleted greatly before there were limits because they go into shock during cold weather and people would get them with thier hands and keep them. they are also imo the best tasting fish so that didnt help in keeping people from taking them.

if i 1-4 were in my favor, then i would have kept it

always wanted a snook.

out of season and under sized and illegal to posess in a tank but still cool. snook are fun no matter the size.
