good deal at Walmart!!!

was at walmart today and saw that they had the tiniest senegals i have ever seen for $6.50. these guys were about 2" max (soooooo cute). anyways, they also had a rope fish about 11" for 12 bucks. i havent seen that many rope fish available so the thought of keeping one really has not crossed my mind. i finshed shopping while i thought about it and decided to get it. i asked for help and when the woman came over to see which fish i wanted she freaked out :ROFL: she was soooo afraid of it, it made me laugh. another girl came over and same thing. she asked if it would bite her. i said if it did it would not hurt :D they said i could have it if i netted it myself. i said ok do i get an extra fish for my effort? they said they would give me a good deal and gave me the baby senegal price instead. so i now got a 11" rope fish for $6.50 from walmart.

They actually look healthy, usually walmart fish suck. Nice pickup.
 
YIKES! It may look like a great deal, but if I were you I would quarantine the hell out of those fish. I have had one good walmart fish ever, the rest have died either alone or taken a few of my other fish with them. It is a good price, but only if you can be sure they are all healthy and disease/parasite free.

some walmarts actually get lucky and hire someone that knows about fish.

Yeah good luck with it. Hopefully it is healthy and wont cause any problems for you.
 
well... rope fish made a good meal for weeksii :( see my other post for pics of fat weeksii belly.
 
wow you got lucky, the price is actually good, here its quite hard to fine reeds, have to look really hard to find one or wait for a long time
