Good deal on 42"x84"x5/8" glass?

I'm in the planning stages to build a concrete Monster Tank. The local glass shop has a piece of glass 42x84x5/8 that he will sell for $350.00 (I may be able to get it for $300 cash). It has a small scratch that you really have to look for to notice.

Does this seem like a good deal?

Is 5/8" thick enough for a roughly 38" span?
The tank will be about 4' deep. I know there is a glass thickness sticky, but it was referring to all-glass construction.

my glass thickness does not just refer to all glass it refers to all tanks. what dimensions are the tank. btw 300-350 on a peice that size is reasonable, not as good as wat my boss got

5x 10x3'

a few nore peices in 5/8th for 100 bucks australian. but it was from a shop front

That is a very good price for that chunk of glass.
No that glass is not thick enough for a 4 foot deep tank. OK, it might be borderline - I.e. it would probably hold water but you'd have to squeeze your butt cheeks together everytime something bumped it. I think recommendation is more like 3/4-1" for a 4 foot deep tank.
