Good Deal on a 300 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes it does look like a good deal as long as it doesn't leak or have big gouges or scratches in it, considering if you go to Tenecor for a 300 gallon tank your going to spend about $5,000 or more.

That is my exact tank except mine has 2" drains. That tank is made by Midwest Custom Aquariums. http://www.midwestcustomaquarium.com/index.html

Here is an ebay auction of thiers also:

I will give them nothing but thumbs up on their craftsmanship and quality for tank construction.

Looks like the craigslist person is selling the tank for about the same as you could buy from the manufacurer. And if you bought it from the manufacturer they could customize the drain holes to you liking if 1.5" and 1" isn't what you want.

Keep us posted.

i would hold out for something else. for that price around here i could find multiple monster tanks, and probably a couple used big cannister filters

Probably not that size and quality though.

I'd call the cragislist seller and see if he can come down on price. It truly is an amazing tank.

its seems like alot to me when ive seen 240 gallon complete setups for $400. But its a much nicer tank so I guess if thats something you really want.

I would definitely try to get the price down a bit. Ive been looking at Midwest as well, and I thought it might be the same tank. What all would I need to go along with the tank as far as a filtration system goes?

do your self a favor..find out who made it! 1/2" acrylic seems on the small side being 30" tall..if its not made by reputable builder, don't risk it..its not a steal..

its actually 30" wide not tall. Not sure if that matters. I checked Midwest and they use 1/2" on that tank as well.

Does anyone know why so many 72" tanks are 30" tall, but its hard to find one 30" wide?
