at this fish store by my house they just got in what there calling an atlantic tarpon. they got 2 of them at a little over 6" for 40 bucks. they look awsome. im gonna do some look up some info on them but what do u guys know about them. are they agressive, will they eat anything that fits in there mouth. what do they like and dislike. thanks for the info/.

oh ya and i thoght they where salt water, i guess im wrong but do they needa ittle salt

uhmm if there anything like indo tarpons they are bright silver and grow huge to 3-4 feet peaceful and fast growers. 40 is a good price.

i dunno

they said it was an atlatic tarpon. its very bright silver. dont have any teeth. so if there peaceful what do they eat. so if i got one i could put it with other fish and wouldnt have to worrie about them getting eaten

They get HUUUUUUUUUGE. World record is 286.9 lbs. I wouldn't recommend keeping one in an aquarium. They also do require salt.

Here's a pic of what one of those little guys will grow in to...

Oh, and here's the scientific name if you wanted to do a search... Megalops atlanticus

they can jump. they make aros and jardinis look like that poor pudgy kid in gym class trying to get a rebound. tarpons are the athletes of the fish world. I've seen many shows of fishermen fishing the mangroves down in florida. those things are fast and powerful. good luck if you get one though.

are they agressive. what do they eat, feeders?
