good deal??

used 30x12x30 custom tall tank, approx 40 gallon, with a used hot magnum hang on canister filter for $50??

1 36x15 canopy made of oak i think cherry staining or something like that and
1 30x12 canopy made with the same thing both for $140---both have a few sratches here and there but can i do somthing about them??

the guy in my lfs gave me a pretty good deal, well thats what i think he's trying to tell me. he seems really cool and i dont think he's trying to rip me off lol

i went in there just to basically to check out canopies....and i had a original plan in just building my own---do you think its alot cheaper to build my own canopies? or just get these ones instead??

like how much cheaper? considering i dont have tools, which i would have to buy aswell, and i have NEVER EVER build something....probably my lego blocks, but thats it LOL

You can build a canopy with wood, hammer, drill, wrench, nails, and lots of glue. Why do you need a canopy though? Lol.

my mom doesnt like that piping sticking out on top of the tank...and i think its kinda cool too hehe

so do you thinks it would be cheaper to get those ones other than a DIY?

you can nmake your own cheaper and there not hard either. just get some (lots) of glue and some nails and wood and hammer as suggested before and it doesnt tank long, if you take your time and plan it out you could make a nice one. if u dont wanna make it then buy one.

ok like how cheaper? if the diffrence isnt that much, dont guys think it would be alot easier to get made ones??

oh and how about building your own glass tank? how hard? how much? materials needed??

As far as a tank. If you really wanna make a cheap one, I would build a plywood tank with a viewing window. That'll drastically cut the cost of a DIY tank down.
