Let me start by stating the obvious- I'm new to the forum. Lurked around for a few weeks, but recently registered. So if this is in the wrong forum/subcat I apologize.

http://easttexas.craigslist.org/fuo/1602904270.html

I have a buddy on here that has a few tanks and recently acquired a 240g tank and I have been helping get it together. Had to replace some glass and seals and start building a stand for it. So I caught the fish fever. I found this ad on craigs list.

The ad states-
125 gallon aquarium with wood stand that has six doors, approx.250 pounds of large petrified wood rocks, powerheads, undergravel filter, hang on filters, hang on skimmer filter, heater, lights and fish.
I have an albino oscar that is a yr old and a gold saum green terror that is the same age and size they are buddies. also have a sucker fish and two jewel cichlids, and one spotted cichlid. they are just bottom feeders to clean up after the big fish. I no longer have time to keep up the aquarium so I need to sell it asap. as you can tell in the pic it needs water added and with a new baby at the house and me training horses i can't find the time!!
$400.00/everything.

To me it seems like a decent deal. But I'm new to this. Something else that I'm worried about is transporting. The tank and fish are about 140 miles from me (mapquest says 2.5 hour drive). Think it's safe to transport them that far in texas? Any suggestions on how to do it the safest way?

400 bux seems like more than i would pay ._. and certainly , i wouldnt drive 140 miles for that. but then thats just me cuz i live in bay area where i get too spoiled from crazy deals and closer distance ^^;;

So even with the stand, fish and equipment it $400 seems to high? I can probably talk them down a little, no one ever advertises the lowest amount they'll accept.

$400 for a complete 240g including all the filtration, gravel, rocks and some really decent fish is a deal to me!

People in my area (Seattle/Tacoma WA) would sell that for around $1000 on C-list. In fact I just checked and found a 200g tank & stand with some lame filtration for $900 with about a 20 min drive from me. Another has a 200g bowfront tank and stand only, (looks custom) from a restaurant for $2000 with about a 45 min drive from me.

I would still talk them down before the big drive over because that is a lot of miles to have to go pick it up. But that price is a steal in the area I live!
