Personally like the 55 with the live rock.
i sadly just realized that the 55 is about 3 hour drive from my place. so it is out of question...

basically the 36 or 75.

but i prefer the 36..

so i guess my question is does it look like it has everything i need to start?

I don't like they didn't list what they have and 500 a bit steep for me personally. Call them and ask if it is still up and running and what all comes with it.

Umm. I am either going to piece a tank together OR I found a 180 gallon tank with 300 lbs of live rock... I am going to ask about what comes with it... currently they are asking for $850...

Personally I would just take less $ than that, and piece together a nice, smaller reef tank. I feel like a 180 would be a lot to deal with while first learning the basics of saltwater. But maybe that's just me.
You could do a smaller tank like 20-40 gallon, and could have your clownfish And it would cost less brand new than that setup, which you don't know how old all the equipment is anyway. Just my .02

well here is where i am at. my parents dont really want me to have a tank at all. but they are willing to let me get a 30g MAX...

so instead of buying a tank. I am going to research, research, research... till Christmas time cause my Birthday is 2 weeks from Christmas and maybe i can talk them into a bigger tank...

and I understand where you are coming from with the smaller set up first but I just couldnt do that... mainly cause that isnt what I want so i know that i would not love it and therefore not take care of it as much...

besides this gives me chance to study and decide what i really want... :)

OK.
ONE quick question. Is this a good deal?

I have been emailing the guy and he said he had it set up and running but got in a divorce and that is the only reason he is selling.

It has EVERYTHING BUT the water, salt mix, and fish... AND I MIGHT have to buy a stronger light if I want to grow hard corals...

ALSO I HAVE TALKED THE GUY DOWN TO $800

AND I would clean EVERYTHING before I set it up
