So I've got 4 ebjd's growing in a 55g tank along with two polypterus Nd when looking at the tank it looks like there's no fish in there at all. I'm hoping adding some dithers will help bring them out since they are really coloring up nicely.. I know silver dollars and blood parrots would work but have those as dithers in another tank and I'm looking for something else...
Cliff notes!
-dither fish needed
-must be active
-fairly safe with ebjd

How big are the fish? that size tank really isn't suitable for 4 ebjd and dithers when grown. But I would have to go with Congo tetras.

congos are awesome but i know they can be pretty pricey around here...i would do Giant Danios

I second that motion

150 gallon mixing pot
Nile Puffer tank
65 gallon semi-agressive community
30 gallon planted tetra
30 gallon saltwater reef
25 gallon goldfish

There is a youtube video of a EBJD & BGJD pair with tons of neon tetras in the tank with them. They look good together.

Thanks everyone. And yeah I know it's not big enough. They're about 2.5 inches.. Just waiting to find a male and will try to breed. Then the rest will be gone. Will try some tetras

just know you may be replacing them... all fish are different IME when it comes to eating dithers and the size required.

Good luck

This is off topic but do you know that you don't breed ebjd-ebjd it doesn't work. Best outcome is ebjd-blue gene Jack Dempsey. just an fyi If you don't know.... well atleast they are tiny

You can use tinfoil barbs...I used neon tetras with my ebjd and didnt last thru the night...
