So. Just to clarify I have no immediate plans to eat my poly sen (i've had him longer than my GF) but has anyone had birchir? if so...how is it? how did you have it prepared? would you have it again?

I'm pretty sure some of the larger species such as PBB are a delicacy to the native people of the fishes surroundings

I wouldn't recommend eating any fish that isn't wild caught... All the chemicals in water conditions etc... Could be bad news and a trip to the doctors..

I know it didn't answer your question, I said that because I doubt no one, or very few, who frequent this site have eaten poly before.. My post was jus some info stating that they are a food source fish for african natives, and if you only wanted people who have eaten bichirs to post... Then this would probably turn to a 0 reply thread.

I really doubt anyone in this forum had it as food before. Maybe only the natives where these species are found abundant in their rivers.
