I have a 48 x 22 x 22. Inhabitants are 2 dovii around 5-6 inches. plus about 30-40 like feeder fish, looks like a molly but just a drab gray in color size is half an inch to an inch in size, they last about a week

The pump is rated at about 450 gph

10 percent water change every other day

Mechanical Filter is about 3 square feet of filter floss

My trickle filter consist of the following

6 x 6 x 12 inch of box of ceramic rings
6 x 6 x 6 inches of crushed corals.
6 x 10 x 18 inches of bioballs
12 stainless steel scrubbies

Aside from the tank, Do you think i need to change anything ?

filtration wise: ur ok! enough bio and mech but the flow may not be enough, there might be dead spots. i suggest some powerheads strategically placed for optimal circulation.

Diet wise: i hope u quarantine the feeders and feed other things beside live

Longevity: might need to upgrade tank size in the future.

Howdy,

Why do you ask? What are your water parameters (nitrite, ammonia)?

Just curious on what the members here think of this sertup, never bothered with test kits, been successful with my water change regimen for the past 20 plus years of keeping oscars, Motas, Festae, Midas, Cichlas.. etc.

I'd say if it works it works ... no troubles means no need for change
