What would be a good feeder fish for a RES? Was planning on maybe two or three a month. Is that too much? Right now he eats zoo med pellets, freeze dried krill, and either field greens or romaine (I try to mix up the greens a little bit so he doesn't get bored with them). I was thinking guppies but really unsure what is best. I was also going to put snails in with him hoping to help keep the tank clean but I am aware that he may eat them. I was told that the snails would be good for him if he chose to dine on them.

I suggest you skip live feeder fish and offer him pieces of fresh or frozen fish from the supermarket. The more intact the fish the better- there are lots of nutrients in skin, bone, and innards.

If you do want to offer live feeders, guppies or other livebearers are good, and cichlid fry are good, especially if you raise your own or buy directly from a producer. Pet store and bait shop feeders are usually malnourished and often diseased, and so do your turtle little good.

Any whole fish is good, the frozen bone-in whiting that you can buy at Walmart or most supermarkets are a good choice. The snails would also be fine.
