Good first starter cihlids

What are your guys' thoughts and prefrences on some cichlids, i have a 75g tank, was going to start out with 4/6 or so

I would go with a Central or South American cichlid they are super hardy and have great personalities

For a starter cichlid firemouths work great you could probably do 3 or 4 but that'd be about it

JD, firemouths, nics, convicts, gts, jags, oscars, etc, take your pick. All of them are relatively easy to care for. Feed them a good pellet, weekly 50% water changes, and you're golden.

You could do it depending on the size of the catfish. Judging by your location I'm assuming you're talking about bullheads from a lake? Channels aren't too common in mass. Ever consider a native tank? That way you save money on heating and native fish can be just as friendly and personable as any cichlid.
