thought I would start a Good Husbandry thread. I will start it off with 5 things I think makes a good FW parent!

-Regular Water Changes
-Regular Water testing
-A quality environment for your type of fish
-Regular equipment maintance
-No impluse buys. Make sure you research every animals needs before purchase. Also make sure you have enough room for it now and "not my next tank".

I would like to add another thing near and dear to my heart. Not feeding your Oscars 300 feeder gold fish just because it looks cool. It causes Hole in the Head disease and poor quality of life for your MONSTER!

feed your fish a diet that comprises a high- quality flake or pellet ,live or fresh feed, or a combination of both on a regular basis.

I haven't tested my water in years. I don't think this is terribly important.

adding a LITTLE salt. not making it brackish, just isotonic.

I drink saltwater alll the time I'm fine!! A little dehydrated and eccentric.. But fine
