It looks like a good idea...less stress on the fish and stays in the water while measure it. Bad thing is that the trout need to be lay flat to get accurate size as there are some size slots in few places.

yeah ya know if the trout would just lay perfectly flat in the water to get a measurement im sure it would be great, wonder how many times they had to retake that picture..
