Hi guys my friend has a 12" piraya for sale. i'm thinking to buy him to company my 11" Piraya in a 120gal tank. my piraya have been there for 3months. is it a good idea to comm 2 piraya? or do i need to keep 1 RBP to spread aggression?
Thanks

I wouldn't have just two, and I think the two piraya and a rbp wouldalmost be too much for the 120g. Piraya are known to be extremely aggressive and wipe out whole tanks, but every fish is different so you never know it could work for a week or for 5 years.

Piraya come from much cooler water then most other P's. So when housed with other Pygo's in an upper 70's tank temp they tend to eat off every fish in the tank.. even other Piraya. At that size I would sure hate to see either of them end up gone. I can almost promise you the RBP will be lunch in a short time lol. I personally would pass on housing them together. Maybe another 120 or 125 would be ok for the second Piraya

I would not house them together, i would hate for you to buy a piraya that size and then he get killed. The first Piraya will think he is intruding his tank because he has been there longer, may not work out but if you really wanna try it you can.

i wouldnt do it. if you really want the other fish get another tank
