So I am currently housing a 5" Carpintis, 6" Sveni Pike, and a 3" Gold Saum in my 55g. The filtration is good. I change the cartridges in my Penguin 350 every 2-3 weeks, and I do 25% water changes 1-2 times a week. My question is, would it be an ok choice to put another Carpintis that's roughly 3" in my tank? My LFS has one stuffed in with a bunch of Africans and I feel like I'd be doing him some justice to save him. Would there be an aggression issue? My current stock has no real issues with aggression besides the typical chase when food is at hand. I keep them on a rotated diet of bloodworms, earth worms, and ocassionally beefheart. Any input on this?

IMO I wouldn't you only have a 55 gallon tank, with the three fish that you have is pushing it... It is great that it is working now, but you could have problems later as they grow larger in the size tank that you have...

Well I may aim to get rid of the Gold Saum simply because it's the smaller of the 3, and isn't exactly the buy that I was going for. I thought I had bought a GT. Turns out I didn't. Haha.

Also, I've had a bit of skepticism as to whether my Carpintis is actually a Carpintis. Here he is.

He's a more vibrant teal than the crappy cell phone pic shows, but I have been told by a person that it is mislabeled. Any truth to that?

its low quality carpintis with not much of markings on the face, high quality carpintis have pearls on its forehead toward its upper lip.
Maybe its a hybrid, all carpintis suppose to have wormy markings or pearl on its face like this one:

You can't tell from the quality of the pictures, but he does have some worming on his face under his eyes all the way around his mouth.

Don't do it. YOu will be very lucky if you can house what you have as adults. My carpintis pair has to stay divided in a 90g. They are a breeding pair. I don't see a pair or 2 of the same sex successfully coexisting in a 55g.

Well since I'm almost out of school and will be moving into my own apartment within the coming 7 months, I will be able to get a 125g. Could I do it then?
