good idea?

Im preping to drill my 500 gallon tank. i was wondering if it would be a good idea to have two holes on one side. One near the top, One near middle. im open to other suggestions.

what for? draining during water changes? drainage to a sump?

oh im very sorry. i ment for draining to the sump. for draining to waterchange the hole is on the closest side to the floor drain.

do you mean one for each or a 3rd pipe is used to drain during waterchanges? im confused a bit lol.

why not just have both at the desired water level of your tank?

i didnt think the drilled holes were supposed to suck air. shows how little i know. the plan was have one near top for top waste and one lowwer close to bottom for bottom waste. again im open to all suggestions.

i thought you meant they were just overflows to your sump? apologies if im picking things up wrong...

well then it shouldn't matter if air gets into the pipe, so long as the water does too lol.
