If you go to aquatica, animal island in Midlothian isn't very far away. it doesn't look like much but has great freshwater stock. You should have held out for next weekend, the gcca swap meet is 9/30.

Old town is a nice store located in the city with restaurants nearby however its been a few years since I've been there and can't recall which way their stock leans. Aquatica is mostly salt, fresh is quality but selection is nothing special. I've never been to the one in Hoffman Estates but have heard great things about them. Animal Island is amazing. The last time I went there was July and they had a couple dozen 10-12" Florida gar, 24" rtc, 10"+ jag & synspollim, nice Africans not just mbuna.

+1^^^ i love animal island. they have a huge selection and are very kowledgable. the owner jason will even special order fish for u if they dont have what u want in stock

I'd recommend Aquarium Adventure in Hoffman Estates and Living Sea Aquarium in Park Ridge. Both have a good selection of fish and have very clean tanks.

Old Town Aquarium is decent but they're over priced and they don't have anything out of the normal.
