The Flower Horn or Hua Luo Han has been touted as the feng shui fish for the coming period of 8 (beginning in 2004), just as the arowana had been dubbed the feng shui fish for the present period of 7 (which began in 1984). It is said to bring its owner lots of prosperity luck and good fortune in everything ranging from wealth and fame to love and happiness

it's nothing more than hoopla, old hoopla at that. much like a rabbits foot.

in the end, you believe what you want to believe.

I personally own flowerhorns b/c of thier look and their pet-like personalities.

To some people, if they believe in it then it works. If you don't believe in it, then it doesn't work. To my own belief, I don't believe in feng shui. I believe that your mind is the most powerful thing, even water can cure cancer if you believe so. Everything you do have a reason behind it, and everything you do will have a result in return. Anyways off topic but back to the point.
As said before, yes it may work for some people. And no it may not work for those who disbelief in those superstitious. Although, there is a boundary for superstitious. And whether you believe it or not, it happens to you anyways. Okay enough said, off topic again. :D

The only thing I know is I've got this FH almost a year ago. He is quite large now, almost a foot long, and eats like a small pig.
My wife believes he bring good luck to our family.
I want to sell him to get back my 90 gallon tank, and recover the money she spends for his expensive NSL pellets.
But my wife has threaten me: "King George goes, you go!".
My wife used to devote 100% of her love to me, now it's 50/50 in some ways.
It's good luck for some, bad luck for me in my case.
I think I am gonna suffer for the next 12-15 years, til he dies ...
I dream of killing him in my sleep, and that's about it.

In my own opinion, NLS are great food indeed. But if you want to talk about prices, NLS aren't even close to the overall other FH food w/o the varieties of the frozen.
