My dad was talking about building something inside this time. I was curious as to know what he was talking about.

He told me he wants to make an 8ft long 5ft wide 4ft deep Plywood aquarim and have 1 side glass so u can see in it.

 and i almost **** myself..

hes makeing me draw up the blue prints on how i want it to be made and also he said the filteration is all on me..

How many gallons would this be?
what kind of filter/sump/what ever else would go on this?
Omg i love my dad

go 10x5x3 or get scuba certified. try garf.org for gallonige. id do a huge stacked bio tower with a few pre pads and a ton of bio.

why 10x5x3? and im already scuba man. i did it when i was like 12

3 feet is really deep, let alone 4 feet. its a pain i the ass to have to clean somthing that deep. i said get certified because you will be going swimming to clean the tank. i also added a few feet to the length because, well, bigger is better right?!

heh :) im certified i guess i will be going swimming with my fish :) thanks guys.

no clue when we will start to build this all i know is im exsited as hell

Sounds awesome,what kind of fish?
Definitly a sump filter ,bulkheads drilled right in,take a little desiging to make sure you dont have any dead spots.
Wish my sons were that into fish,Id be building the same ting with them

Hehe im 15 and in 5 months ill be 16 and working at the lfs every day from 11-5 But i guess sence we are building this ill put my arowanas in there and have the pond for koi cuz my mom likes them.

i was thinking for the tank:
my 2 arowanas
clown knife
Maybe my lima
and some Pbass

thats all i have right now that will outgrow my 120 gallon :( i dont want to many fish because i dont wana have to feed them 100shrimp aday :)

Heh :) i wish my dad was into fish like me. he likes to fish and eat them, But he dosent care for keeping them that much.

I'm trying to talk him into getting a monster tank to put in our house but we dont have anymore room for fishtanks

when i move to boston though and we get a bigger house, i will be bringing my fishtanks with me and probably getting a Big tank to hold my arowanas. like a 270gallon and a 540 :)
