I told my LFS to help me find a mantis shrimp. It took them two months to find one, and in that time I acquired two mantis shrimps already. When they found one they ordered it without knowing if I'd really buy it...

So now they are stuck with a stomatopod that no one really wants and I am going to take it off them because they are real kind and went to the trouble to get it for me anyway...which means I finally have an excuse to get the fish (which my parents chose for my 10 gal tank as a condition to getting the tank) out of that hell and to a better home.

The 10gal tank will soon hold a peacock mantis, and here are the inhabitants that finally get to move out:

4 angelfish
15 xray tetras
A common pleco
A black ghost knife.

I chose the xray tetras and (stupidly) the BGK.

So although it's bad that I (well my family) had such fish in a 10gal, it's good that they are going and I'm getting another mantis!

Ridiculoustly overstocked by the pleco alone.

I would assume that the pleco is around 6 inches.
