Good Oddball for a 55 gal?

What would be a medium size oddball for a 55 gal? Something that will do well with plants and not destroy them. Also not something really aggressive and not a picky eater. Something intelligent and/or colorful would be a plus too.


I was also thinking of a cichlid like a salvini or green terror, but the green terror wont do good with plants. Any suggestions? Thanks

Yeah I know, If they are semi-aggressive its Ok, I just dont want anything super aggressive.

Good suggestions guys, anymore? Also, I should say I'd prefer something that is a middle to top swimmer or something that swims all ranges, I dont really want something that is a bottom fish.

African Butterfly? Don't know exactly how aggressive they are but they don't get too big so maybe you could have 2 or 3?
