Anyone seen these snails before. I've got a few popping up. this being the biggest at almost the size of my pinky nail.

SOOOO, firstly I'd like to say that IDing snales is probably as hard if not harder as truely IDing corals (for one I know very few people who do either, they generally just go, Acropora or monti etc not the specific) ANYWAYS. with a bit of reading, and some exellent IDing skills I believe this to be a Engina snail....(of the BUCCINIDAE PISANIINAE family) I don't know which for sure as there is a number that look similar in that family... possibley the Engina carolinae. The Buccinidae are what are known as Welks, and Welks are known carnavours... so as sad as I am to say it, it is entirely likely to not be reef safe.... and I really hate being the guy to say it. Here is the refference I used to identify it if your interested http://www.gastropods.com/2/Shell_51832.shtml It really is a shame though, beautiful snail.... and I believe a number of welks get rather large... upwards of 5", I would almost want to put him into his own tank and let him grow.

Definitely looks a lot like the picture. That's unfortunate because they are nice. It a couple of weeks I should have my sump/refuge going. Maybe i'll catch them when I see them and drop them in my fuge.

Not a bad idea, the only risk is if they breed they can produce larva that spend time in the water column then end up back into your display... you could just keep an eye out for eggs though, as they are rather obvious.
