Whats a good pellet for my stingray that will be as a treat and secondary food. I was thinking the sinking hikari cichlid pellets. I feed my ray tiliapia pieces 1-2 a day.

I don't know that I would try a sinking pellet as a treat for a stingray, personally. If this is a saltwater ray, I prefer treats like clams/mussels on a half shell besides shrimp, prawn and fish. Freshwater rays would probably enjoy the molusks as well but I'm not sure how they'd be recommended in terms of nutritional value for freshwater. For motoros, teacups and leopoldis, I like worms & live shrimp. Iff you should offer a pellet, maybe try the sinking giant carnivore pellets by hikari, but imo I think a variety of live&frozen foods are best for such exotic fish.

All rays in the following pic were raised on approx. 50% NLS pellets, and 50% prawns and/or freeze dried krill. With this many rays pellets can get messy, but they certainly provide optimum nutrition, no matter the species.

Ok rn ive been giving him tilapia and throw in black worms or blood worms as a treat soon I will also be getting frozen shrimp to feed him im lucky enough that this guy eats everything I throw in there. Also comes right up to me now wenever he wants food.

I have been wondering about this myself. My guys are eating nls and carnivore pellets. I’m just wondering what type of pellets are other ray keepers on here feeding their rays? I also feed other types of frozen and live but mostly wondering about pellets.

I read that pellets will cause the spots in black diamond to be creamy ...if it has color enhancers... seriously do not know if it is true.....
