I have kept wild caught crawdads, the only thing I have found I need to watch is thermal shock, if you are keeping them warmer than where they came from take a couple/few days to bring their temp. up.
When was 13 i first got into aquariums seriously i caught two crawdads, one a huge brown female and the other a beautiful blue male. I had them for about a year before i had to give them away. And my friend i gave them to had them for about a year before they escaped and his mother crushed them. So to make a long story short i had better luck with the crwdads than i did with "hardy" species of fish.

When i was purchasing my breeding stock i was ripped off by crayfish.com. He took my money and bailed. Beware!
