wat is a good pond turtle besides red eared sliders and painted turtles for my koi pond here in southern california it is going to be fenced in and there will be goldfish,rosy minnows,koi,hi fin banded sharks hornwort plants and water hyacinths i used to have a red eared slider but it dissapeared i thought southern or western painted turtles were pretty cool as well as some of the other sliders like rio grande sliders but is there any thing else?

i agree, any map, cooter or slider would work fine, but not sure the legality in CA, so check before you get set on one
They should be fine because i had a map and a Florida red bellied cooter before also, it only illegal to sell them under that "4 inch law". That goes for any turtle anyways, but i've seen it done for "educational purposes"
