This guy is selling a 120 gallon (only tank) for $300 obo. What is a good price for a tank of unknown condition?

If the glass is like brand new $300 is a decent price, kinda on the high end IMO...if the glass has a lot of imperfections I would only pay $1 per gallon...maybe $150 max depending on condition. I paid $185 for my 120g (tank only), glass was like new..few minor scratches
Why do you say "of unknown condition"? That kind of makes it hard to value not knowing what condition it is in. Check out the tank and see what kind of condition it is in BEFORE buying

hell no. you are in canada and can go to big als and get a brand new 120g tank for less than 300.
I believe they go for around $260 brand new from any Big Als.
there will be price variances between manufacture though. Marineland/Perfecto are the cheapst but they are generally made with slightly thinner glass and less durable trim than either Aqueon or Miracles (the other two common brands up here)
this seller is selling a (potentially) used tank for at or above brand new prices.

Could be but alot has to do with location. In southern california that would be greatly overpriced. In a remote area that may be a fair price. Seems Toronto would be a big enough metropolitan area that you could find one for a lower price.
Yup I agree this is overpriced...He has still not replied to my email but I will try to bargain him down to $100-150.
