Going to look at 180 ( 72 x 24 x 24) acrylic tank and stand this Saturday. He's asking $500 but is open to negotiating, also says he has a bunch of accessories as well. I will definitely check out the tank thoroughly, but this would be my first acrylic tank. Anything special to look for? And does the price seem reasonable if it's in good condition, am going to try get the price a bit lower..

Crazing, scratches, chips, the general quality of the acrylic joints. Age of acrylic is a factor as well. Make sure it's braced properly (euro bracing is common on acrylic tanks). Also check to see if it's nice and clear, or i fit looks like it needs sanded/buffed/polished (this is very time intensive). All of this would effect price.
Have him fill it and see how much it bows.
I'd pay $500 if the tank is nice. Acrylic is more expensive than glass.
