Good price for a hystrix ray??

is $70 a good price for a 8-10" hystrix ray? Im looking at putting a few in my 12x6x3 indoor pond. Just wanna make sure they are decent prices

If its a true hystrix that's a great price, usually pups are around $150.

Not sure about the growth rate but hystrix are one of the smaller species, fully grown somewhere around 12-14".

hmm. maybe I will have to pick up the motoros that are $60 for a 8-10" sense I need something that will get alittle bigger cause of my catfish. So $60 a good price for a motoro pup? sorry for all the dumb questions on price

Thats a good price for a hystrix. You could'nt buy half a one for that in uk. $70 is like £43.00.

I need to come to Iowa. Were in Iowa are you? What you dont buy, I will. My LFS wanted 150.00 for 5" motoro pup, I talked him down to 75.00 today as a matter a fact for one he has had in the store the last few weeks. So, if you can get them for 60, thats a good price. Just remember, they will get bigger..lol
How many rays does your LFS have and what kinds?

I designed and built the filtration system/fish displays at my new lfs for free. In return I get wholesale on fish from distributer and my wholesale on my new reef system So im looking into some rays now that they are cheaper sense I will be making a slight risk with them with the catfish

I see. Well only thing I can say is just watch the cats and rays together.... If your cats also swim around alot, remember, the cats swimming over the top of the rays all the time will stress the rays out.
But ya, those are good prices. Being its usually double that amount for them.
Take advantage while you can if you are able to take care of them right.
