Good price for a used tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's not terrible depending on what comes with it. I'm working out the details on a 125 for $200 with a stand. It seems like if you can keep it under $2/gal and there's some stuff that comes with it, you're doing alright.

I don't think it is a bad price if it has the stand, lights, and lids.

i got my 220 with just a stand and tank for 350. so if its everything for 400 thats pretty good. However i would double check the measurements and make sure it is actually a 200 gal

$2 per gallon is a good deal among larger tanks i got my tank and stand for 250 and its a 135 so that was a really good deal then add to that for extras like lighting, filtration, sump plumbing, etc. $400 for a 200 gallon seems right to me especially if the stand is included and if it's a friend then that also gives you peace of mind in knowing what the tank has been through and condition it's in when your getting it. If you decide to wait and buy a new one then you will likely spend that or more on just the tank alone.

I personally think 1$/gallon is a good base price for a used tank.
That is the base/starting price and then you can evaluate what else comes with the tank to offset any additional per gallon price.

Alright, I know the tank hasn't been in use and just sitting around in his basement for some time now he wasn't really specific with what he has to give with it as far as I know it's just the tank and stand. As for the piece of mind, the tank was build into the wall of the house his parents bought and they took it out because they couldn't keep care of the fish right at all so no luck there.

I think thats a good deal. In my area people want 300-400 for their 55 gallon tank with a stand. Thats why I drive 4.5 hours. To get a better deal
