Guys, what do you think a good price is for a male 6" EBJD? Someone here locally has one on CL and is asking for offers. Been wanting one of these for a while, but have no idea what the average price should be. Thanks..

My guess for a single excellent Ebjd would be in the $60-100 range. I've never bought any that size but the small 3/4" and 1" ones cost $10 each. I've seen em that small at lfs for $20 a piece.

Keep in mind EBJD grow very slow.... They are rarely offered at that size and also I have heard some people having issues with them getting past the 3 inch stage because of random die offs. I am in North Jersey and when big ones show up they are way over priced. I think if you can get that fish (health and all being good) for 100 or a little more you are in good shape. make sure you check the eyes and fish in general as a lot have minor defects from line breeding.
I have never seen one for sale that size. I have seen 2" with clean colors for 30 at one lfs, and a 4.5" with okay patterns for 50 at another lfs. Not seen any on local CL.
I was surprised to see it listed on CL too, this person is getting rid of a lot equipment and also has the EBJD and a pleco for sale. I'll definitely check it out pretty good before going ahead with anything.
