How much is good price for black substrate for my 55 gal that my rhombus is in where should i get it and people say that pool sand I should use is it good

$20 to $25 per 20lbs x 2 bags at petsmart: Black substrate.
$5 to $10 per 50lbs x 1 at a local pool supplier. Pool filter sand.

is it good to use pool sand though because i have people that they say it good use it people say no
Shoot....I use it for my Ray's, Arow's, Pbass, African tank, my discus tank, my dat tank, my native tank, my breeder tank. UMMmmmm....that might be it. WAIT....and my boys sand pit.
Pool sand is fine and dandy as long as you aren't getting it in your filters. Some filters fail because of fine substrate impeding the impeller or damaging the seals and bearings. Typically when people recommend against pool sand, it's because they ruined a filter with it. Of similar note, play sand, same drawbacks, same issues.
