Ok thank you! I've seen this exact same style at our local petsmart for 27.99 and are about 2in and I know petsmart flower horns are low grade flowers

You would have a better chance buying a Petsmart flowerhorn that looks like it has potential than to try to change this fish at that age. This fish shows a lot of trimac, and is a nice fish, but not a high grade fish and nothing like the highly colorful flowerhorns being bred today.

Depends what your really looking for in flowerhorns. Some like the classic trimac look with a little blend in between, some like the all mighty colorful and shiny pearls, and some like pure straight monster kok regardless of tail, proportional, or anything. But do keep this in mind, the more fancy and what not - the shorter their lifespan. The more classic, the longer they live. Simple as that.
