Ok been wondering since I am sort of new to arowanas. If I buy a baby black arowana that is fed pellets and bloodworms, will I be able to feed it that and some prawns for its whole life? Will it not have a resistance to try and eat small fish?

It's natural instinct for it to eat small fish. it will always do it. it's like a captive bred tiger is raised by a human it's whole life then eventually attacks. it's in their dna

Ok been wondering because I have a school of 10 diamond tetras that would be housed with it. I am guessing they will be eaten?

it depends, some people get lucky and their aros prefer top water food

Long ago I bought a Jardini around 2 inches, I kept it with full tank of tiger barb, gourami, molies...etc. its happy to eat pellet or whatever that float on water surface, everything look peace and living together until the Jardini hit 5~6 inches...at that time everything in the tank are bite size snack or look like a yummy decent meal to it...as long I keep it well fed then it would leave other alone but if I miss a meal schedule = a tank mate gone missing :P so at the end a predator is still a predator it will prey on small fishes when it got a change!

Diamond tetras = expensive feeders

Haha I see. What about Knifefish (south american) because they are worm like. I have two a BGK and a Gymnotus sp.

I have BGK with my Leichhardti, no issues or interaction what so ever.

Ok. Well the only other fish that I would maybe worry about is larger Altum angels. And I was wondering what is really a decent size tank for a balck aro. I posted on another forum and they said a minimum of 5000 gallon.... Well I and most of us do not have room for 42,000+ pounds of water and etc. So I was wondering what is the growth rate and tank size for a black aro.
