Cichlids, America
Hello MFK, I currently have a 90 gallon tank. I just got done ordering a male jack Dempsey, pictus catfish, 2 clown loaches, green terror, and a chocolate cichlid. I usually stick to bala sharks for school fish but I've using them for about 2 years. I would like something new. No tetra's or swordtails because I have had bad experience with those. Plus I would be worry about my Gt and JD eating them. How will Hatchet fish or silver dollars work? I really like those two. My mom has a 80 gallon with a Oscar and a school of dollars. Another schooling fish I was considering was the tiger barbs. If anyone with any help and experience can reply to this I would greatly appreciate it.

tiger barbs are good if you can find decent sized ones , Congo Tetras also look nice , if you had a bigger tank tinfoil or lemon barbs would also look good , just a few ideas thrown out there :D

Silver Dollars, Giant Danios , Austrailian Rainbow Fish-- I use all of these as dithers, I know you said no tetras but Buenos Aires tetra's also work well.

Just with the current stock you may be overstocked when they get some size to them. Let alone a school of silver dollars added to the mix. Tiger barbs or giant danios may be a better choice due to tank size in my opinion

Agreed. At full size the green terror, the chocolate cichlid and the jack dempsey will be 3/4 the length of your tank combined. The clown loaches also get very big ( withots of time though). Just leave your stock as is.
