Good small/Medium cichlids for a planted tank?

What are some good cichlids for a 55 gal planted tak? The cichlids should be able to get along with a BGK and pleco, because thats whats housed in it now. Something that grows to a max range of 4-8 inches. Also, osmething that isnt a picky eater, something that will eat live food as well as pellets and krill and things like that.

Any suggestions? Thanks

HRP's are groovy in a smallish tank. So are severums. Sevs are gorgeous when they're in a good mood.

Severums will demolish plants though. Look into Dwarves like Rams, Apistogramma and the smaller Acara species.

look at fm's, rainbows, kribs (regional varients) etc. generally the smaller cichlids should leave plants alone in most cases. and what japes has suggested.
