those eels will definitely outgrow that tank, and its hard to make a recommendation with out knowing the next tank size if your planning on getting it.

those eels are going to wayoutgrow that tank gonna have to upgrade tanks so what size tank are you going to get for them ?

dont know as of now tank size for future but the eels arent the big eels you see, they are so called freshwater/brackish so 18'' max and there about 12'' or so now..

Gymnothorax tile is the name of the eels...

back to the fish , what kind??

also the tank was fresh before and i switched it over last week or so the salinity is at 1.021 and has been running for a year or so ...Ph is 8.2 and has crushed coral at teh bottom for the substrate..i ahve 2 filters running on it and temp is 80-82f..Am I ready for fish, im new to salt etc so i know freshwater having been doinf it for 10 years ot so...I got bored wit hthe tank so I switched it over..

ive heard snowflakes get in the low 20's inches, in the wild they get 3 feet.

but if its gymnothorax you actually have a tessalata, and that gets alot bigger

so they will massively out grow the tank

so you just switched over last week, and you have 24 inches of eels in there already. is your tank cycled?

they dont look like that at all...i think the snowflak is just a generic label they use for these type...

im just asking, because im sure your bacteria didnt take the rapid increase of salinity very well so i hope your testing your water.

also is your eel indeed a tessalata or not? because they give you less options in the tankmate category edit: nvm
