So I got a 50 gallon that has just one angel in it right now, what would be some cool tankmates for it? I was thinking about getting a couple of silver dollars. Would the angel be aggresive against them?

I wouldn't do silver dollars as they are easily spooked, and the angel will most likely pick on the. Try some of the apistos, or tetras.

well i have a 240gal with 2 angels in it.... and 2 rays.... and a black ghost knife... and a gator gar... and a royal pleco.... and an ira. shark.... and a silver aro....

I would get 4 more Angel fish and about a dozen Glo-lite tetras. If all you have is just one Angel fish in a 50 gal tank.

A lone angelfish will be fine though so it's up to him if he wants more angels. How big is the angel now? Tetras definitely are nice. Just make sure they are big enough to avoid being eaten. Cories, bristlenose plecos, rams and apistos are also compatible.

^ agreed with making sure the Tetras are big enough. That's why I like the glo-lites. Years ago I put a bunch of Neons in with my Angel fish and watched the Angels get big fast as the school of Neons got smaller. Expensive feeders. If the OP does not want any more Angels it is totaly up to him I perfer the look of a group of Angels as to one lone fish.

I have a school of glossoleptis pseudoincisus in my 75g angel tank.Adding more angels is risky, often they fight.
Also in the tank are botia kubutai, striata and almorhae.Great interesing fish that dont bother the angels or other fish at all if they are in a large group.I have 6 or 7 of each loach species.

if you want angels in my opinion, I would get 6-8 juvies and let them grow up together all at the same time.

Just my opinion (and it might be a little bias because of what is in my tank) but try small cichlids like rams.
