Good tank mates

how many polys are in the tank already?

less is more in terms of these primitive fishes combos, so i wouldn't push it too much. you could go with a SAmerican lungfish and/or an African Bonytongue...both get along well with gars for the most part, provided sizes are comparable.

keep in mind the gars and polys will get bigger...so believe it or not, you may just want to sit back with what you have, MAYBE add one or two more of the suggested fishes and let them grow. be sure to increase filtration/water changes as you increase number of tankmates--

i thort lungfish couldnt be kept with anything else?

South American Lungfish can be kept with other fish.. I agree with Solomon..

if you like fishes that will be bashed up and killed, i suggest silverdollars.

silvery fish will constantly be attacked by gars in the majority of cases, and are not suitable tankmates--

Any other fish that could be sugested i might just go with 2 gars and some other fish but not sure what fish would go well?

Dats, African Aro, Bichirs, Bowfin...

skip the bowfin, they generally won't get along with tankmates and should be kept alone--
