Anybody have sample pics/setups of double tanks? I was thinking of connecting a 35 gallon tank to either one of my 90 or 50gallons. The 90 gallon has a series of wet-dry and pumps so I was thinking of being creative and somehow attach outflow of the wet dry pump into the 35 gallon and then have the water flow from 35 back to the main tank.

However, should I put it on top or bottom? If I put it on top I can just let it flow back down via gravity with a tube but then it might be hard to adjust the flow rate to get it right.

I need some inspirations!

You would most likely have to get the 35 drilled if you want it to over flow into the bigger tank. Your plan is very similar to a refugium. Search for them and you should find some better resources.

i have a 75 and a ten gallon both on the same filter
all you have to do is this
1. each has to have it's on overflow going to wet/dry
2. if using the same pump for both throw a t into the return line
3. make sure each side of the return line has a ball valve on it so you can regulate water flow to each as to not to overflow one tank or the other

4. simple as can be

i will try to get some pics if that will help

yep or drill both tanks near the top making overflows to the wet dry using one pump, just like many stores

yet if one tank get sick hmmmm what happens next ...........
you have to medicate both

add up the gallons and treat as such

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. Just make sure the overflows can each handle the output of the pump as if it were on the system alone.
