this is the only one i got. I find all the info on here.
thx man! i actually just saw that link earlier today, lots of good stuff. so id have to google the name of the river to see what country its in?

for example, theres an orino on there from the "Atabapo (Orinoco)". thats a venezuelan right?

which one would be the columbian? everything i check on google maps points to venezula...

Ahhhh Jcardona1 I see your on the study up vibe of cichla keeping. Check all post by R1, Tongue, bOOsten, Mjunior, Scatacephlous, and of course Diesal Mack. You should have at least three days of reading and great information in all of the thread's they have all started or contributed to.

I believe that the Atabapo ties the Orinoco into the Rio Negro. It is located mostly in Venezuela.

One thing to remember when given a collection point for a fish. Sometimes they do not tell you where the fish was actually collected but rather the site where the fish were taken and sold to the shippers. For example, Belem, Brazil sells a lot of fish around the globe. You'll see a Geophagus as listed from Belem. That does not mean it was captured in Belem, just that Belem is where the fish was shipped from. Many fish listed as coming from Columbia actually originate in Venezuela. They are just shipped to you from Columbia.

It's frustrating but I have seen improvement in recent years. Hobbyists are becoming more sophisticated and demanding the correct info. Collectors and shippers are starting to pay more attention to this detail.
