good weekend ended badly

i finally had time to take a break from school and work this weekend and went to the mountains. i was headed home when i saw a missed call, voice message and text from my roommate. i listened to the message telling me he found one of my bichirs next to the tank. so i spent the next two hours in the car wondering which one it was. when i got home i found a dried up 8" delhezi he was my one eyed del. im not sure how long he had been there. i left saturday morning and didnt notice anyone missing on friday. kinda sucks. i haven't lost a large fish like this ever.

i still have 3 dels, 1 senegal, 1 poli, and 1 endli in the tank

i know. he got through where my fx5 output goes through the hood. its prolly the smallest opening in the lid

the polli i got from you is getting kind of aggressive, especially towards my senegal, always nipping fins and biting i think he may be flirting

Sorry to hear about your loss. I use old fluval sponges to clog any and all holes in my lids because I am super paranoid.

BTW you can never be too paranoid about polys escaping. I like the sponge idea because it still allows air to come in and out.
