I'm planning a green terror colony 180 gallon tank. I want to add some dithers to add life to this tank. Will goodeids be good. I'm thinking of A. Splendens or I. Furcidens.

Yes I agree they will be okay as long as they are large enough not to be eaten. The females get pretty large, 4" or so, the males stay a bit smaller, might be concerned keeping a male a. splendens with a full grown adult GT. The splendens are also quite nippy, with each other and also with the cichlids. Fearless almost. Cool fish though

so would furcidens be the better option?

They would be very similar in size and a little nippy too. Can’t think of a goodied that gets bigger then 4”.
If you are looking for a larger livebarer, take a look at wild type swords and mollies. Some get up to 6”. Like x. Mayae is an example.

Are you only interested in keeping livebearers with them?

livebearers are nice because they can easily breed so that even if the cichlids kill one, there will be more to replace them, However, any other large fish that could easily breed would be fine

CIchlids will most likely eat all the babies, unless you have very intricate hiding spots that the GT's can't get into.

Pike livebearers would probably work. I have kept them in the past, and the females get quite large.

Personally I might go for Buenos aires tetras instead of livebearers. Should be too fast and large to eat, also they are from SA so will keep the tank geographically accurate. Or, a few striped silver dollars would work fine in a 180.

Is it possible to get pike livebarers to eat pellets or anything else? I’ve heard they’ll only eat feeders.
