Has anyone had any experience with Google Checkout.
A friend of mine is trying to purchase a Road Bike (bicycle) and the person selling it is deployed in Afghanistan.
My brief understanding is this....
The person has left the bike with authorized Google Checkout personnel. My friend would need to contact Google, give them his address and phone number. Google will then ship the product to him and wire the money into a Trust controlled by Google. He then has 5 days to confirm receipt and acceptance of the product, at which time the money is distributed from Google to the original seller.
If he is not satisfied, Google will arrange pickup, and wire the money back to him.
This sounds like scam, BUT it is with Google and thus I'm intrigued to see if anyone has used this service before.
