Hi bros!

I've been keeping an 8-inch Bagarius yarrelli for three months. It's kinda calm and docile at the beginning. But until last month it started to be aggressive to its tankmates (two shovelnoses, one armatus and one Aussie lung). It has claimed the upper corner of the tank and attacked whenever others come close.

Is it normal for a goonch to act like this? Can anyone share here the aggression stories of your goonch? Thanks!

Personally? I've never had any issues. I've never seen any issues with aggression reported here before either.

Predation is a different story though...

Man, I would get that lung away. He is to rare and valuable to risk having a chunk bit out of him.

It's completely normal, just if it gets too bad (friend does this idk if it works but he says its fine) get some sorta long stick like maybe a bbq stick and poke the fish with.

Yeah, I moved the goonch in a solo tank... the lung's tail has scratches, hope will heal soon :(

It's now a bit difficult for me as I'm now in the UK and will not be back home till Sept this year... when I heard my bro say the goonch attacked my aussie I was freaked the hell out :jaw-dropp

The goonch is the smallest fish in the tank, that's why I mistakenly thought that's ok to add it in the community... I now feel so dumb for my decision, fortunately no causality is resulted. Maybe I've got a psycho goonch...
