Hello all,
I found this goonch online and would like to know what type it is. I really hope it's a bagarius bagarius highland giant because it would compliment my cold water pond perfectly. If it's not, I need to know because I'm not spending that much money to put it in my cold water pond only to have it die because it's a warmwater species and can't take the cold. I read the pinned post about identifying them and I am still unsure. Please lmk soon! The owner says it was imported from Bangkok.

In my opinion it would be between b.b and b.Lica or indochina as we knew it. From the region and what look like oval eyes (although hard to tell from this view) I would say b.Lica.

Didn’t want to start another goonch ID post. Just want to confirm mine as well. I read the goonch ID thread and from that I’m leaning towards bagarius bagarius but I want to be sure. All pics are the same fish just different tank. Thanks

Yours looks lica to me, as well. The pics aren't the best however. I reserve the right to change my mind on yours if/when better pics are presented.

I believe these pics are as good as they will ever get. Sorry. I don’t have a light on the tank
